Starting Bonus, Relocation assistance, and Loan repayment Programs
Responsible for medical care of LSCC patients by providing comprehensive outpatient care. Under the direction of the Medical Director, delivers primary care commensurate with training to patients of LSCC. Delivers care appropriate for an outpatient, primary care community health center with a multicultural, multilingual patient population.
Responsibilities:
- Provides exams, diagnoses, and treats female patients of all ages.
- Full participation in LSCC OB/GYN hospital call coverage (internal and external "no doc" call) arranged by the OB/GYN Medical Director and OB/GYN
- Acts as a consultant on all obstetrics/gynecological cases referred by other staff providers of LSCC
- Competes for medical charts after each visit in the electronic medical records.
- Provides quality medical care according to standards established by LSCC
- Participates in providing continuity of care including hospital in-patient management and prenatal rounding on expectant/recently delivered LSCC Obstetric patients.
- All other duties or responsibilities as assigned by Medical Director.
Coaching / Training:
- Provides in-service training for staff in selected topics in OB/GYN as deemed necessary by the Medical Director.
- Assures a high-quality educational experience for medical students, residents, and other individuals in a training role.
Operations:
- Provides supervision to advanced practice nurses and physician assistants in accordance with the LSCC Delegation Protocol/Collaborative Practice.
- Supervises medical assistants and lab personnel in the area of specific support services for patient care.
- Applies for and obtains staff privileges at community hospitals in the area as recommended/required by LSCC.
- Attends internal and external meetings, workshops, and conferences, and participates on task forces or committees, when necessary and as required.
- Actively monitor OB/GYN service productivity.
- Fulfills established guidelines set in place for provider encounter levels.
Compliance:
- Assists and participates in internal quality control.
- Performs all duties and services in full compliance with LSCC's Quality Standards.
- Achieves and maintains LSCC Core Clinical Competencies.
Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of medicine and allied services commensurate with his/her training.
- Demonstrates a special interest in the area of community medicine.
- Ability to relate to culturally diverse patients and communities.
- Ability to recognize and understand the public health, social, and economic factors that impact the overall health of LSCC patients.
- Ability to support LSCC mission and readily serve its patient population.
- Maintains a professional manner and appearance that contributes to the professional image presented to individuals within and outside of LSCC.
- Ability to work in and support electronic health records environment.
- Ability to travel and work from various clinic locations as necessary.
Required Experience, Education, and License:
- Current valid license to practice medicine in the State of Texas.
- Current DEA certificates.
- Board eligibility in OB/GYN is required; board certification is required no later than three (3) years following the date of initial hire/appointment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Preferred Experience, Education, and License:
- Proficiency in EMR system.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
